Why T1 HbA1c?

Hmmm.  Well T1 is for Type 1. Thats the easy part.  HbA1c is a measure, best explained by others here but in summary it now represents the measure of the rest of my life.  Get it right and I hope to lead a healthy, complication free and above all, long, life.

Get it wrong, and keep getting it wrong, and my life expectancy is cut by an average of 20 years, I'll go blind, need to have one or even both legs amputated, lose the feeling in my extremities and not really have what I would call a good time!

For me, its a prompt.  a daily reminder that my pancreatic ally challenged alter ego, T1HbA1c, is responsible for keeping me safe, healthy and happy.
